5.29 Precision Gears into a 4 cyl front diff

 

1983 factory 4.10 front differential gets town down for a 5.29 Precision Gear install alog with an Aussie Locker. This was an extra third which was removed from a front axle that was getting an E-locker. Here is the carrier removed and the ring gear removed. Note the factory solid pinion spacer.

 

Here is a close-up of the factory solid pinion spacer. This spacer was reused for the install.

 

New gears installed, setting gearlash before final pattern check. Backlash was set at .009, final pinion bearing preload with the solid pinion spacer was set at 10 lb/in.

 

Final pattern drive side - good to go...
